What is the model number of the Rosen unit. Joined: Mon 3:39 am Posts: 12 Has thanked: 3 times Been thanked: 0 time I trust some of this is useful in solving my dilemma. I don't have a way to insert the images you have asked for but, if you allow it, I could pm them to you. Due to this setup, I am not sure that I could even run this unit with a IGo program. All of my communication with the programming is thru the usb port. This may well be a chip on a board as well. This Carshow unit has 1 micro sd slot on the front of the unit but, I think there may be one inside that contains the navigation system as the files are restored to a "mmc sd/" or similar drive. I have changed the global cfg file to couple of different ones but I am back to the original version 612505 because it is the latest of those I had.
Naviextras toolbox restoring backup license#
I haven't tried to alter the license files yet. I am somewhat surprised that I was able to make these changes and have the toolbox be OK with them. I did these changes based on threads I had read here which suggested that these files might be the cause of my issue. Neither of these changes have made any difference. Over the last couple of days, I have successfully managed to change the sys.txt file as well as the global.cfg file with the naviextras toolbox.

Haha, neither they nor carshow will respond to any of my emails. They have finally given up and suggest that I go to Rosen for a solution. I have been doing several restores to the system and have been directed to do these on the advise of the help desk at Naviextras with slight variations. I was more concerned about current mapping. The unit is brand new and I can't really say that those options even worked before my restore as I had not had any time to use it and get thoroughly familiar with it. I am beginning to believe that the licensing was never there for the poi options but, that just doesn't make sense to me. I don't believe the map/poi/license files can be corrupted as they all appear to be the same as the original backed up files. All other functions seem to work fine although I may not know until I am in the vicinity of junctions, 3d buildings, etc.

That was when I may have lost all the poi reliant options. After I did this, the navigation didn't seem to work right so, I did a 'overwrite navigation' option to restore it to original, or so I thought. It asked me to backup the system as part of the procedure with prepping the usb for updates. I went to Naviextras and went thru the toolbox setup and synctool usb stick business. At that time, I was not aware of all the options in the system and hadn't gotten to the about screen to see the installed items.
Naviextras toolbox restoring backup free#
I had read somewhere that I had a 30 day window to get free updates on a new unit. The reason I did a backup in the first place was because I was concerned about the maps and how current they were.
